Pad-mounted transformer (also called American-pattern tank-type transformer) comprises transformer interior, high-voltage load switch protective fuse and other LV elements. It can be used outdoors and indoors, which makes it very applicable to such places as industrial zones, residential districts, downtown and in high buildings. It has the following advantages:

It has dual fuses to accomplish full range current protection and temperature protection, and has two kinds of power supply: loop (including dual power supply) and radial feed to achieve the basic functions of a substation.

All airtight design, grounding enclosure and no conductive parts on surface mean on need of dielectric clearance, which can reliably ensure personnel safety. High-voltage inlet leads use all insulating elbow inserts that are easy to put in and pull out. By operating with insulating stick it can also ensure personnel safety. Thief-proof structure can prevent accidental and malicious removal or damage.

Simple maintenance
Plug-in fuse and elbow insert make component changing more convenient. All airtight seal separates oil from the air and the transformer is free of maintenance.

High protection level
High voltage switchgear and transformer interior are in one all airtight oil tank. It is difficult to contaminate the compartment, which makes pad-mounted transformers suitable for poor condition locations such as mines, deserts, and plateaus.
