Driven by the "Dual-Carbon" goals, photovoltaic (PV) power generation has become a core pathway for corporate green transformation. As a sustainability leader in the automotive manufacturing industry, GAC Toyota is actively advancing distributed PV projects, adopting a "self-consumption with surplus grid feed-in" model to maximize clean energy utilization. The recently energized Phase I & II PV project at GAC Toyota features Haihong Electric’s independently developed Tidal Smart Substation for PV power generation (hereafter "Tidal Substation"). With its adaptive flexibility, stable transmission, and high reliability, the substation has rightfully claimed the center stage in the project, delivering critical technical support for the PV system’s high-efficiency operation.
Dynamic Adaptation to PV Fluctuations: Solving Renewable Energy Output Challenges
PV power output exhibits intermittency and volatility due to sunlight intensity and weather variations. Conventional laminated-core transformers struggle to handle such dynamic fluctuations, often leading to energy waste or poor power quality. Haihong’s Tidal Substation intelligently adapts to PV output changes, enabling flexible regulation and smooth grid integration. This not only enhances the plant’s energy security and emergency response capabilities but also ensures stable power supply despite PV source instability.
Rock-Solid Power Conversion for High-Quality Transmission
Random PV output fluctuations can trigger grid voltage issues, jeopardizing electrical equipment safety. The Tidal Substation integrates a 3D wound core transformer, whose robust structure maintains stable voltage conversion during operation, minimizes voltage fluctuation impacts, and significantly improves the PV system’s stability and reliability—elevating overall power supply quality.
Upgraded Insulation: A Safety "Firewall"
The substation’s built-in transformer employs flame-retardant, self-extinguishing, and non-toxic insulation materials with a thin-insulation design. Compared to traditional cast resin dry-type transformers, it reduces combustible material weight by over 85%. Paired with an efficient heat-dissipating coil structure, the transformer offers fire- and explosion-proof advantages, along with moisture- and contamination-resistant properties. This design slashes fire risks, mitigates environmental impacts, and boosts operational reliability—creating a safety "firewall" for uninterrupted performance.
Haihong’s Tidal Substation not only addresses core PV grid-connection challenges but also redefines the value standards for renewable energy transformers with its "self-adaptive, ultra-reliable" features. Aligning with China’s "Dual-Carbon" strategy, Haihong continues to innovate, delivering energy-efficient, safe, and reliable power distribution solutions for the PV sector. Moving forward, the company will deepen its expertise in solar energy, providing enterprises with integrated "generation-transmission-consumption" green energy solutions to accelerate the nation’s energy transition.
