On May 24, a delegation of 47 experts and corporate representatives from SOE Hong Kong  visited Haihong Electric. The two parties engaged in in-depth discussions on 3D Wound Core transformer technology and green charging solutions. The exchange focused on the technical advantages of Haihong Electric’s innovative products and their suitability for Hong Kong’s high-density urban scenarios, laying a collaborative foundation for advancing high-quality green power distribution in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.

Innovative Technology Meets Hong Kong’s High-Density Power Distribution Needs

The delegation inspected multiple core workshops producing 3D Wound Core transformers and innovative products. In the manufacturing workshop for Open Ventilated 3D Wound Core Dry-type Transformers, the visitors gained a thorough understanding of the product’s lightweight and compact design, along with its notable advantages such as energy-efficient operation, strong ability to withstanding short-circuit , high overload capacity, fire and explosion prevention, moisture and pollution resistance, low-noise operation (below 45dB), and full lifecycle environmental friendliness. The product is particularly suited to meet the power distribution safety and load fluctuation demands of Hong Kong’s dense urban buildings, effectively addressing issues like noise disturbance and limited space for power equipment.

The delegation showed keen interest in the compact double-layer prefabricated substation and the one-stop integrated electric vehicle charging station. Both products feature a double-layer modular design, significantly reducing the footprint (the compact double-layer prefabricated substation occupies 45% less space than traditional single-layer substations, while the one-stop integrated charging station requires 56% less space compared to separate charging and distribution equipment setups). The upper transformer compartment can accommodate two Open Ventilated 3D Wound Core Dry-type Transformers. Both products also support flexible expansion with energy storage or photovoltaic modules, offering efficient power distribution and charging solutions for land-scarce Hong Kong.

3D Wound Core Technology Leads the Green Power Distribution Revolution

During the symposium, Haihong Electric shared its innovative achievements and industry breakthroughs in 3D Wound Core technology. This technology revolutionizes the core structure of traditional silicon steel laminated core transformers and amorphous alloy planar wound core transformers, positioning China’s energy-efficient transformer technology at the forefront globally. The R&D team holds over 400 authorized patents. Innovative products such as the 110kV Energy-saving Amorphous Alloy 3D Wound Core Oil-immersed Power Transformer,one-stop integrated electric vehicle charging station, and Photovoltaic Intelligent Double-layer Double-transformer Substation have consistently received authoritative certifications, with their technology reaching internationally leading or advanced levels. The 3D Wound Core technology and its innovative products provide new solutions for power distribution infrastructure across various sectors, injecting green energy into power systems.

As a national champion in specialized manufacturing, Haihong Electric continues to advance 3D Wound Core technology. Its products have been deployed in iconic projects across the Greater Bay Area, including the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge, Shenzhen Bay One, Guangzhou Pazhou Multi-Smart Supercharging Station, and Baotang Grid-Side Independent Battery Energy Storage Station. This deep collaboration with experts and corporate representatives from The SOE Hong Kong has expanded future cooperation channels for green power distribution infrastructure projects in the Greater Bay Area. Moving forward, both parties will leverage technological innovation as a bridge to accelerate the intelligent and low-carbon upgrade of the region’s power distribution network, injecting new momentum into the sustainable development of Greater Bay Area cities under the "dual-carbon" goals.
