The theme of the 2026 National Energy Conservation Promotion Week is "A New Starting Point for Energy Conservation, Toward a Low-Carbon Future". The "new starting point" reflects the industrial trend of in-depth integration between advanced manufacturing and new energy industries. The Implementation Plan for High-Quality Development of Energy-Saving Equipment (2026–2028) issued by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology and three other ministries and commissions clearly stipulates that by 2028, energy-saving transformers will account for over 75% of newly installed transformers, and the share of in-service energy-saving transformers will rise to 15%. Boasting ultra-low loss performance, amorphous alloy 3D wound core transformers are ushering in a golden period for large-scale popularization.

In the construction of new energy power systems, photovoltaic and wind power generation feature long no-load durations and intermittent power fluctuations. Transformers operate under no-load or light-load conditions for prolonged periods, and their no-load loss has become a major hidden source of electric energy waste that cannot be overlooked. Addressing this pain point head-on, amorphous alloy 3D wound core power transformers drastically cut standby power loss, enabling more green electricity to be effectively delivered to end-use production and residential facilities instead of being wasted in vain.
Haihong Electric: The Pioneer Defining Amorphous Alloy 3D Wound Core Technology
Haihong Electric is the world’s first power distribution equipment enterprise to develop amorphous alloy 3D wound core transformers. At an earlier press conference held by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, Luo Junjie, Vice President of the China Machinery Industry Federation, highlighted a landmark achievement: the world’s first 110kV energy-saving amorphous alloy 3D wound core oil-immersed power transformer, whose energy efficiency indicators far exceed Class 1 standards.

Developed under the overall coordination of China Southern Power Grid Guangdong Power Grid Corporation, with Haihong Electric as the core R&D entity, the equipment was jointly tackled over two years with Huazhong University of Science and Technology, North China Electric Power University and Advanced Technology & Materials Co., Ltd. It was put into operation at Hongchang Substation of Shantou Power Supply Bureau, China Southern Power Grid Guangdong Branch at the end of September 2025. This milestone marks a brand-new stage for high-voltage energy-saving power transformation equipment, and the original 3D wound core technology has once again reshaped the global landscape of high-voltage transformer equipment.

Ultra-Class 1 Energy Efficiency with Remarkable Power-Saving and Carbon Reduction Benefits
Compared with the Class 1 energy efficiency limit value, the ultra-Class 1 110kV energy-saving amorphous alloy 3D wound core oil-immersed power transformer delivers outstanding performance upgrades: its no-load loss is reduced by over 60%, and load loss by more than 9%. A single unit can save approximately 120,000 kWh of electricity annually, equivalent to a carbon emission reduction of 72 tons. The product’s technology has been appraised by authoritative institutions as "internationally leading".

Leveraging Mature Core Technology to Launch Large-Capacity 35kV Products, Achieving Full Voltage Grade Coverage
Drawing on the proven technical experience accumulated from the ultra-Class 1 110kV product, Haihong Electric has developed a large-capacity 35kV amorphous alloy 3D wound core oil-immersed power transformer, which has passed authoritative technical appraisal with comprehensive performance indicators reaching world-leading levels.
With this breakthrough, Haihong Electric’s core amorphous alloy 3D wound core technology now fully covers all products for voltage grades up to 110kV, cementing China’s position as the global leader in high-voltage, large-capacity amorphous alloy 3D wound core transformer technology.

Win Glory for China with Internationally Leading Technology
"Win Glory for China with Internationally Leading Technology" encapsulates Haihong Electric’s original aspiration of innovation while staying true to its mission. As a national-level champion manufacturer of individual products and a world-leading R&D and production base for 3D wound core transformers, the enterprise closely aligns with national strategies for energy conservation and carbon reduction. Upholding the philosophy of Genuineness · Honesty · Sincerity, it develops products that embody the value of human sustainable development.

Haihong Electric has deployed its original technology in power grid projects nationwide to safeguard domestic energy supply security and advance the "Dual Carbon" goals. Meanwhile, it actively expands overseas markets, providing reliable "Chinese solutions" for the construction of new power systems worldwide.
From the benchmark 110kV equipment operating reliably at Hongchang Substation to the newly appraised large-capacity 35kV product; from deep engagement in the domestic power grid supporting market to exporting top-tier energy-saving transformer technology globally, Haihong Electric has opened a new chapter of development relying on its core energy-saving technology for high-voltage large-capacity amorphous alloy 3D wound core transformers. It continuously cuts power grid transmission losses to ensure every kilowatt-hour of electricity is transmitted and utilized efficiently. This fully echoes the theme of the National Energy Conservation Promotion Week: redefining the starting point of energy conservation with original Chinese technology, and paving the way for sustainable low-carbon development across society through tangible electricity-saving and carbon-reduction outcomes.
