Heihe in Heilongjiang features a typical frigid-climate environment. Its annual average temperature ranges from 1.6 ℃ to 2.2 ℃. In winter, temperatures normally fall between -23 ℃ and -13 ℃, with regular extreme lows reaching -35 ℃ to -40 ℃. The transformer at the Aihui District Domestic Waste Incineration Plant in Heihe has no heating facilities. Coupled with frequent impact-type loads unique to the waste-to-energy industry, it presents two severe challenges for power-distribution equipment operation.

Under extreme low-temperature conditions together with high operating temperature rise, conventional resin-cast dry-type transformers tend to suffer accelerated aging and cracking of insulating materials, together with cabinet condensation and high operating losses. These issues greatly shorten service life and practicality, raise maintenance frequency and costs, and raise risks of electrical faults and safety incidents. In severe cases, they may trigger incinerator shutdowns and directly endanger plant-site operational safety.

Building on trust and positive track record established from the earlier Heihe People’s Hospital power-distribution project, the purchaser rejected conventional stacked-core resin-cast dry-type transformer solutions and selected the Fully-Insulated Low-Temperature-Rise 3D Wound Core Dry-Type Transformer with Cooling System supplied by Haihong Electric. Travelling nearly 4000 kilometres from Guangdong to this frigid northern region, the unit has delivered outstanding real-world operating performance. After commissioning, the operating temperature under load of this transformer is even lower than the no-load temperature of the former transformer it replaced. Actual field operation verifies its superior performance: it is fully adapted to the dual extreme operating conditions of northern-region extreme cold and heavy industrial loads, setting a new high benchmark for power-engineering design and equipment selection in high-cold northern areas.

Its self-developed zero-carbon vortex boost cooling system effectively addresses pain points under extreme-cold and heavy-load conditions. The full-range high-efficiency heat-dissipation architecture markedly reduces transformer temperature rise and enhances overload capacity while extending service life. It narrows the temperature difference between equipment and ambient surroundings to mitigate condensation. The unit reliably handles frequent load fluctuations at waste incineration plants and guarantees long-term stable operation.

The proprietary hybrid insulation structure fundamentally solves the insulation-cracking problem of traditional dry-type transformers under extreme-cold conditions. Boasting excellent low-temperature resistance and weather resistance, it substantially improves equipment stability, durability and safety, delivering an optimal solution balancing practicality and durability for complex high-cold-region operating scenarios.

Both the end-user and purchaser highly appraise the overall equipment design. Its robust enclosure and comprehensive protection structure effectively prevent foreign-object ingress. Well-considered layout and fine craftsmanship are reflected in key details including high-voltage incoming terminals, low-voltage outgoing terminals, safety access doors, boost flow deflectors, neutral-point earthing terminals and reserved test-clamp positions. Such design safeguards operational safety and greatly facilitates later-stage maintenance, demonstrating Haihong Electric’s technical ingenuity and sense of responsibility.

Aligned with national strategies for high-quality development of energy-saving equipment, the completion of this key-livelihood power-distribution project at the Aihui District Domestic Waste Incineration Plant represents joint efforts between the purchaser and Haihong Electric. Both sides share high-aligned performance requirements for power-distribution equipment. Home-grown robust power equipment has withstood harsh high-cold operating conditions and built a benchmark reference project for power-distribution applications in frigid regions.

Going forward, Haihong Electric will continuously improve the performance of its 3D Wound Core Transformer portfolio, fully supporting key engineering projects across China and providing solid equipment backing for industrial safety production and low-carbon transition in high-cold regions.
